The Slea Head Drive is a marvel. As someone who loves a roadtrip, it was a tough choice between the Ring of Kerry and the Slea Head Drive when over in Ireland at the back end of last year, but owing to the season and a chance to stay over in Dingle, the Slea Head Drive won out on this occasion.
Don’t worry Ring of Kerry, we shall return for you.
So off we drove, and filmed. Admittedly the whole drive itself didn’t take long, but it was still an amazing afternoon spent. The sun was beaming down on us, the roads were mostly clear and the views along the Dingle Peninsula were fantastic. It may have been a short drive (approx 2-4 hours depending on stops) and a short trip, but it will live long in the memory.
So as per the title of this post, there is a video to go with these words, and to be frank the video is more likely to do justice to this stretch of Irish coastline than my words ever could. So why not press play and take a look for yourself, and if you like what you see, maybe you’ll check out my 10 reasons why you should roadtrip the Dingle Peninsula post, which went viral not so long ago and led to me being interviewed on Irish radio. God I love Ireland!
