Hopefully by now you’re aware of G+ stories, and maybe even using them?  Well I hope so because I love them and bring you another today which this time showcases the 48 hours I spent in Dublin only last weekend.

The trip was an absolute whirlwind, Heathrow to Dublin and back again all within one weekend.  It was a blast though, filled with tasty food, adrenaline fueled activities and of course a fair bit of Guinness.

I know that ‘slow travel’ is all the rage at the moment, its a huge buzz term in the travel blogging world, and I get it, I really do.  I get that to experience a destination to its fullest you need to immerse yourself, get to know the local hangouts, give yourself time to make local friends and see life through their eyes … the only problem with this ideal I have is, I don’t really have the time.

Lame excuse?

Potentially, but when you only have so many days annual leave per calendar year your travels pretty quickly becomes limited.  That’s why, when I travel, its tends to be at a pace.  I want to see as much as a I can within the short amount of time I have.  I’m not saying its the ideal way to travel, but with some destinations I am unlikely to return again in a hurry due to distance, so why wouldn’t I see as much as I can whilst I have the chance?

Now Dublin is not that far away at all I grant, a mere 50 minute flight from where I live, but that doesn’t mean that I have the resources to head back every other weekend.  That’s why I set myself a challenge of seeing as much as I could last weekend, because who knows when I’ll return to Dublin?

Best to travel with no regrets right?

… well I would regret not seeing as much of this wonderful city as I could, while I could.
