Are you a Blogger?
Do you want to win a trip for 2 people to witness the northern lights? … From deep inside the Arctic Circle?
Well here’s you chance. Courtesy of www.joeblogsnetwork.com and www.transun.co.uk, an amazing northern lights package for 2 is on offer any blogger willing to write a post which details their top 3 bucket list items, and then tweet their entry port URL to @Transun with the hashtag #TransunLights.
Your top 3 doesn’t have to be in any particular order, but they do have to be submitted before 23.59pm on Thursday 30th April 2015. Any later than that and I’m sorry, your entry will not be counted.
So with that in mind, here’s some aurora inspiration to get help you get your butt in gear. Granted this was taken from my trip to Iceland, but the Northern Lights are great anywhere right? Totally a bucket list item, and one to say I am proud (and lucky) to have ticked off. I wouldn’t say no to seeing them again though, that’s for sure.
Your probably wondering if, once you’ve posted, you need to campaign and collect votes for your entry. Well I’m glad to say that no you do not. This isn’t one of those competitions. This competition has a panel of Transun judges, and they will simply pick their favourite entry to win the prize. So if your post is a good one, you’re in with a shout, no matter how big or small your social media reach is.
My bucket List
So to my bucket list, my top 3. I won’t lie, its tough to pick just 3, but for a while now I’ve been collecting info and images on a couple of journeys and locations that would definitely fit the bucket list criteria. Fingers crossed for this weeks lottery right!?
So, as per my bucket list Pinterest board above, these are the 3 front runners. When I dream of travel, I dream BIG. No long weekends here, huge great trips that could take months.
1. The Transiberian Railway
2. Overland Truck across central and south America
3. Canada … all of it!
I would choose the Transiberian Railway because train travel is probably my favourite kind of travel, and I have heard some great tales from the journey and seen from incredible photos of the scenery. Whilst the movie Transiberian is probably not one to watch before setting off on such a trip, it in no way has put me off wanting to reach China from Russia via Mongolia.
Ah South America, you have eluded me thus far, but we will meet one day! Why the overland truck? Again it comes as a recommendation through friends, and a bit of jealousy on my part when I hear their stories. The Inca Trail and the Bolivian Salt Flats are of particular interest.
Wide open spaces, stunning scenery, amazing wildlife, kind people, outdoor sports, poutine … do I need any other reasons to want to go? To be honest I already pretty much know the route I would take and exactly how I might tackle Canada. It’s just a case of saving up and making it a reality. Vancouver, Banff, Jasper, Calgary and Toronto – I’m coming for you!
