Laos and Cambodia, two totally awesome countries! Encase this is your first visit to my blog, or if you just haven’t passed through in a while, you might not be aware that I recently spent the best part of a month exploring both Laos and Cambodia with my better half. It was a whirlwind trip which involved covering a fair few miles in a relatively short space of time, but within that time I managed to both real time blog and wield my GoPro and capture a few cool snippets of our experience.
From Bangkok to the Laos border, up north through Laos via Vientiane, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang, Laos was an incredible journey and instantly became a hit with both Esther and I. Being lucky enough to get soaked and soak other people during Songkran was a personal highlight.
The Cambodian leg of our journey started in Phnom Penh. A sobering visit to the Genocide Museum in the kingdoms capital was followed up by a trip to the beach down in Sihanovkuille. After burning like a bi*ch on the golden sands it was an overnight bus ride to Siem Reap and the temples of Ankor.
Anyway, rather than read about it in just a couple of measly paragraphs why not site back, put your feet up and watch the video. That is the point of this post after all. Enjoy :)
So did that bring back any/many memories? If so I hope they were good memories.
The rope swing into the water – nicely done!

Great video! It brings back a lot of memories I have from visiting these places.
Also, I like the way you compressed your trip into a 4-minute video clip. I actually think this may inspire me to shoot more video footage on my trips.
Was this all shot with a GoPro camera, or did you use another type of video camera for some of it?

@Maria – thought about a back-flip … probably a bad idea.
@Ryan – Thanks mate. Glad it bought back good memories, and yes it was all shot with a GoPro. I have the GP3 White version, love it.
Finally got round to watching the video.
Seriously mate, that has to be one of the best travel videos I’ve seen around. I might invest in a goPro myself.
Clap yourself on the back and be proud of this amazing video. I’m gonna watch it again!

@Ed :D Happy face, glad you liked it mate. Love my GoPro and wish I could use it more. Filming the 9-5 might not be so exciting though.
One of the best travel vids I’ve seen – love it
@JP – Thanks, means a lot. One of the best trips I’ve ever taken to be fair, getting good footage was pretty easy.
